Anikó Tőzsér - IFS trained Psychologist in Lisbon and Online

I'm Anikó Tőzsér, Psychologist & IFS trained psychologist, Candidate in Sexual Psychotherapy, PhD Candidate in Neuropsychology of Emotions
Originally from Hungary, I’ve been living in Portugal for two years, so I know firsthand how moving abroad can shake the image we have of ourselves, confront us with who we are, and bring up emotions we never expected.
For the past five years — since I started working as a psychologist — many of my clients have come to me with questions around intimacy, sexuality, and connection.
Some bring difficulties that appear in their sexual life, others want to explore their femininity or masculinity more deeply, and some simply feel that “something isn’t quite right.”
Many also share that they have a perfectionist part that keeps pushing them forward — helping them achieve success at work — while another part feels anxious and undeserving of all that recognition.
As a psychologist using Internal Family Systems (IFS) as my main approach, I don’t like labeling my clients as “mentally ill".
I believe that every part of us is trying to help in its own way — even if that help shows up as symptoms of a disorder or personality pattern.
It’s worth listening first to what these parts want to tell us: judgment and suppression have never healed anyone; empathy, care, and love, on the other hand, often do.
When we approach our inner parts with curiosity and compassion, and create a safe space where they can communicate, something shifts: a deep sense of confidence and inner balance can emerge, helping us reconnect with ourselves and truly feel well.
During sessions, I combine this inner work with psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral tools, while also paying attention to the body’s signals.
I’m not the kind of psychologist who sits in silence for 50 minutes — I ask questions, offer feedback, respond, and stay present.
My goal is to help you create lasting change and live a lighter, more authentic life — all within an accepting, warm, and compassionate space.
